Tsvāsvlād Se

Tsvāsvlād Se (Tsvāsv /ləˑd/ [dart] [genetics]) is a subtropical Small Town located in the Pesutkrakoda Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Tsvāsvlād Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Tsvāsvlād Se was founded by Nena Owaines Pughan Vaughes, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Tsvāsvlād Se has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Tsvāsvlād Se receives an average of 275 cm/y (108 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Tsvāsvlād Se covers an area of nearly 3 km² (1 mi²), and an average elevation of 5138 m (16856 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Tsvāsvlād Se was founded durring the early 9th century, by Nena Owaines Pughan Vaughes. The establishment of Tsvāsvlād Se was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Nena Owaines Pughan Vaughes electing to pay people to resettle in Tsvāsvlād Se.

Tsvāsvlād Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Tsvāsvlād Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Tsvāsvlād Se is buildings are arranged arround a single broad flagstone mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The town's cost-cutting-focused defences have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

A look around Tsvāsvlād Se has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Tsvāsvlād Se long.

Cultural Notes

Tsvāsvlād Se's locals are divided into several castes. They may be organized by social role, by imputed nobility of birth, by ethnic origins, or any other dividing principle, but they cannot imagine any other way of organizing themselves. A hierarchy of castes is not inevitable, but there will be social and legal limits applied to ensure that each caste remains fixed in its function. The outside world may or may not respect these distinctions when dealing with the locals.

Tsvāsvlād Se's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its striking sculptural forms and often dazzling ornamental detail that characterizes the buildings general shape. The radiant colors, rich patterns, and symmetrical silhouettes employed by this style were backed up by rich decorative features including gardens, courtyards, extruded arches, domes, pointed domes, vaulted ceilings, elaborate painted and inlaid designs, and decorative sculptures.

In Tsvāsvlād Se the utterance of expletives is impossible within city limits. This has changed as the limits have changed, but has not kept up with slang, or swearing in foreign languages.
